1. Can I change the designs of the metal gates and railings
Unfortunately any change to the design will become a custom design. We only produce custom designed gates for customers local to the Eastbourne area. This is due to the volume of quotes recieved online.

2. What heights of metal entrance gates do you supply
The vast majority of our ranges are available in the following heights 3ft, 1m, 4ft, 5ft & 6ft. The heights relate to the finished height once the gate is hung. We allow a 50mm ground clearance.

3. What widths of gates do you supply
All of our single gates are typically available in widths from 680mm to 1372mm. Our driveway gates are typically available in widths from 1300mm to 4900mm and our estate gates are typically available in widths from 1300mm to 6100mm. However we are able to supply any width that you desire. Should your requirements fall outside of the typical ranges please contact us for a price for your desired width. Please note that these widths relate to the gap between your pillars and is not the actual size of the gate. Should you wish to order posts please read information on posts before ordering your gate(s) and post(s).

4. When will my gate be delivered
It usually takes four to six weeks for your order to be delivered once you have placed an order. Once you have placed your order you will recieve an email stating an estimated delivery time frame. Once your product is ready to be dispatched you will be alerted to an exact delivery date. We always aim to keep our customers informed and therefore should there be any delay, we will let you know as soon as possible.

5. Can you come out and measure
Unfortunately this service is only available to local customers in the Eastbourne area. There is currently no charge for this service, but we do ask that you have decided which wrought iron gate or metal garden railing that you want to order and that you have completed an order form and are ready to place your order. We will then arrange to visit you, we will take accurate measurements, collect your order form and your deposit (50%). The balance being payable upon delivery for local customers.

If you are unsure how to measure and are not local to Eastbourne then we suggest that you contact a builder, who will be able to measure for you and should be able to install your metal entrance gate or metal railings when they arrive.

6. How big will the gap be between my pillar and gate once hung
The gap between your pillar and the wrought iron gate will vary as we use set size wrought iron gates, with adjustable hinges, thereby ensuring that we can cover a huge variety of openings. For wrought iron single gates the maximum gap is 150mm, the minimum is 70mm. For metal double gates the maximum gap is 190mm, the minimum is 90mm. These are approximate measurements and can vary slightly.

7. What is zinc spray & powder coating
Powder coating is a durable finishing method for metals using a dry, powdered plastic that is heat fused onto the surface. This finish ensures that the product does not need to be painted for the forseeable future. The zinc spray provides protection against rust. The two combined provide a long lasting smooth finish. Please click to find out more about the range of finishes we offer on all our metal entrance gates and metal garden railings

8. What colours do the wrought iron gates come in
If you opt for a powder coated finish, then your wrought iron gate will be coated gloss black.

9. Can I have the arrow heads painted gold
Unfortunately we do not paint the arrow heads gold for you, but it is easy to do yourself.

10. Can I have a written quote
Should you require a written quote, we suggest that you contact us for a copy of our catalogue, which details all our prices.

11. Can you install my gates
An installation service is currently only available to customers local to Eastbourne. Should you wish to obtain our prices for installation please see the page on installation. If you are outside the Eastbourne area and need someone to install your gates for you, we suggest that you either contact a local builder or have a look at our links page, which details companies that will only be too happy to supply and install our gates for you.

13. Do you do gate closers
We have had rather a lot of problems with gate closers in the past. The technology in them is prone to breaking and therefore we do not supply them.

14. Do you do key pad access
This is part of automating your wrought iron gates, as we do not sell automation kits, we have also decided to not sell accessories that accompany them.

15. What are drop bolts
Drop bolts are supllied with all our iron double gates. They allow your double gates to be secured in the open or closed position. You will need to drill a hole for each bolt to drop into though in your ground. Please see picture below.
Drop bolt
16. Will your wrought iron entrance gates open up a slope as my driveway slopes
This depends upon how much your driveway slopes. If you are attaching the iron double gates to your pillars then you can of course hang the gate higher up the wall. You should consider however, how the driveway gates will look if they have to be hung too far up the wall to ensure that they open, will they look aesthetically pleasing when they are closed?

17. Do you do sliding gates
At present we do not, but we are looking into it.

18. Do you supply gates that concertina
Unfortunately we do not supply gates that fold in half.

19. Do you supply infill panels for the gap at the bottom of the wrought iron gate
No sorry, we are not able to supply these as every gap will be different, therefore you would need to get this made individually for your property.

20. Who will deliver my gates
If you are local to the Eastbourne area then we will deliver your wrought iron gates. Nationally we use a haulage company. Your products will be delivered by pallet. The driver may need some assistance in unloading your wrought iron gates. If you have ordered particluarly big gates we suggest that you have two strong people available to take delivery of your gates, particularly if access is bad.

21. Can I come and visit the workshop
We always welcome visitors and have a portfolio of work for customers to look through. We ask that you call us prior to your visit to ensure that there is someone available to meet with you.

22. Do you keep any gates in stock
We keep most components in stock, but do not keep whole gates.

23. Will you supply me with a quote for custom gates
Unfortunately due to the volume of quotes that can be recieved from the internet we are unable to quote you for custom gates, but should you have any queries about whether any of our gates are suitable for your property, please do not hesitate to contact us.
