Do I need wrought iron railing posts?
We reccommend that you have an intermediary wrought iron railing post every 1.5 - 2m of railing, this is to ensure that your wrought iron railings remain rigid. Therefore if you were to order 4m of wrought iron railings we would suggest that you order one intermediary post to sit half way along the length of railing.
You may also wish to purchase end posts, these work in a similar way to garden gate posts. If you do not have a suitable surface, for example, a brick wall to attach your wrought iron railing to then you will need to order a wrought iron end post.
Thirdly you may need to order a wrought iron corner post if you wish your railings to make a 90 degree turn. Please note that we are unable to provide wrought iron railing posts that turn railings at any other angles.
Measuring for your wrought iron railing posts
You will only need to provide us with the opening width within which you wish your wrought iron railings and posts to fit within, we work everything else out. For more detailed information please see the page on measuring for your wrought iron railings and posts.

Installing your wrought iron railing posts
All our railing posts are supplied with a post cap welded to the top. For shipping and handling purposes your wrought iron railings and posts will come in sections. Wrought iron railings can be attached to posts using the slotted tab that is welded to the railing post. All our railing posts come with a flat base plate at the bottom of the post, with four pre-drilled holes. This allows the wrought iron railing post to be bolted to a suitable surface. We recommend that wrought iron railing posts are bolted to a good strong surface. If you are in any doubt as to the suitability of your surface we recommend you contact a builder prior to installing any wrought iron railings. If you have any queries, please give us a call and we will be happy to answer your questions.
Ordering your wrought iron posts
We would ask that if you plan to order railings and post(s) that these be ordered at the same time as each other and that you indicate on your order if ordering multiple gates and railings which products each post relates to. When providing us with your opening width measurement which you wish your length of railing and posts to occupy, we would ask that you do not make allowances for the posts, simply provide the complete measurement within which you wish the railing and post(s) to fit, we will do the necessary calculations for you.
Please note that all our posts finish approximately 30mm above the finishing height of the wrought iron railing due to the post cap.
